It makes me wonder what Big would of done next afterwards, if he would of kept going more commercial while continued fame and riches along the roots of Jay Z and Eminem (who also continued to stay relevant and successful), or would Big learn from puffy and start launching his own companies like clothes. Dont get me wrong, its still extremely strong as a double disc. but for the most part you can tell Puffy was trying to stretch it for a more mainstream audience and added a ton of features making it in my opinion the weaker album. Life After Death still had a few raw songs like niggas die and somebody's got to go, kick in the door etc. There was nothing else like it for the most part, with the only commercial song really being Juicy and Big Poppa. Ready to die remains my favorite because of how raw it was. Only tracks I don't really care for are Another and The World Is Filled. Some softer R&B shit in Fuck You Tonight with R. Heartfelt tribute to a fallen homie in Miss U.īanging West Coast-style record in Going Back To Cali. Hard, Bone Thugs-styled collab track in Notorious Thugs.
